2.30pm – For your first time head to the Jardins Biovès in Menton town centre just a short walk from the Hotel Menton Méditerranée opposite Tourist Information. The park is home to countless floral designs, sculptures and fountains and named after Emile Biovès who was mayor of Menton in the late 19th century. This lovely promenade covers 800 metres and every year plays host to the Lemon Festival when it turns into wonderland. The Jardins de Biovès are also decorated over Christmas.
3.30pm – Head to Maison Herbin, an iconic site in Menton, to find out how its marmalades are made. Menton is famous for its sun-soaked lemons so a trip to one of the Maison Herbin factories is a must for holidaymakers. You can try this wonderful local marmalade every morning at the hotel's breakfast buffet.
4.30pm – After this zesty trip, cross the Old Town to the Saint Michel-Archange Basilica forecourt overlooking the whole of Menton. Step inside this majestic Italian-style basilica with its two clock towers and colourful baroque exterior. Menton Music Festival takes over the forecourt every August. A stone's throw from Saint-Michel Basilica is the White Penitents Chapel which was renovated in 1987 and was once home to the White Penitents.
Work up a sweat as you go up to the Montée du Souvenir where you'll find the Old Château Cemetery, one of the best and most beautiful cemeteries in France built on the relics of a fortress that once protected the town. The Old Château Cemetery has incredible views of Menton, the Chapel and Basilica making it a go-to for taking amazing holiday snaps.
